Do's and Don'ts of the Maiden

 
 

The Emerald Maiden is an Elysium and the Masqerade is kept    for the most part.  It is relaxed at times, but usually when it is    known there is no one around who is unaware.

 
 

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

1. No GOD characters.   2. No child characters.  This is a bar after all and since the        Masq should be protected the bar enforces the drinking       age, with a few exceptions, but you would find that in       just about any establishment.  Since it's feasible for        someone close to drinking age to get past the door we        have given the Maiden that flaw as well.  But don't be       surprised if there is question,  ID will be asked for and       expected.    3. The Maiden in a high class establishment.  Although Black        Tie and Tails are not required attire, you are expected to         behave in an appropriate manner.    4.  We do ask, since the Maiden is a public area, that use of        extreme use of profanity and explicit sex be kept to a         minimum in channel.  We are not strictly an 18+ channel.        Take them to a more private setting.  The Maiden offers         rooms or there is also the more romantic setting of the         atrium.   5.  Please keep Out of Character (OOC) comments to a        minimum.  They can be fun but distracting.  This is a         role playing channel after all.  And please keep them in         brackets of some sort such as "<< >> or {{ }} or (( ))"   6.  Inappropriate nicks, meaning sexually explicit or profane,        will not be tolerated in channel and you will be asked to         change it or leave.  Also..please do not be in sexually         oriented channels.  You will be asked to leave them or         ours.   7.  No idling in channel unless cleared by an op. And the        ops will make sure that other ops get the word. If you are        idle, i.e. sitting in channel without saying or doing anything,        for 15 minutes, an op will message you and ask that you        participate or leave. After 30 minutes, unless you clear it        with the op, you will be kicked from the channel. Having        an auto rejoin on will get you kicked again and banned        temporarily until you are back at the keyboard to talk to        an op and request to be let back in.         Sitting in channel and getting the gist of what's going on is        acceptable and appreciated. Just make sure you let an op        know what you are doing before you sit quietly. :-)      8.  Anti Idle or Away Pagers, if you use one, please make        sure that it is not long or set to a short period of time. Long        ones and/or ones that are seen often tend to get annoying        and are disruptive to play. If you use one, your idle time in        channel is extended to 30 minutes. Then an op will        message you. If you've cleared it with an op to be there        longer, that is fine. 30 minutes after the first message, if        you do respond, you will be kicked from the channel. If        you have an auto rejoin on, you will be kicked and banned        temporarily
